Courses

  • Introduction to Mass Communication (أعلم 1112) — Foundational communication theory and media history, taught with lecture materials and active-learning components.
  • Communication Media in the Arabian Gulf (أعلم 4030) — Gulf media history and systems, including UAE and Saudi media development and satellite broadcasting.
  • Graphic Design for TV (MASS4231) — Practical broadcast graphics instruction, including motion tracking and screen-replacement work in Apple Motion.

Teaching Approach

I aim to make theory concrete — pairing conceptual material (Lasswell, McLuhan, Habermas, and others) with visual, hands-on exercises, and building lab-based modules where students shoot and edit their own material to broadcast standard.

Media Production & Instructional Design

Alongside classroom teaching, this practical work includes:

  • Motion graphics and tracking work in Apple Motion, including 1-point and 2-point tracking and screen replacement, built for PAL broadcast standard (25fps)
  • Video editing in Final Cut Pro
  • Visual teaching materials — slide decks, infographics, interactive study aids, and diagrams — built to make dense academic material easier to retain
